Shocking! Woman subjected to brutal train accident in western India
by ShravyaA horrific accident took place in western India’s Maharashtra where a woman lost her leg after she fainted and fell on a railway track.
The incident took place at CBD Belapur station of Navi Mumbai district on July 8.
Visuals showed the train moving backward as the crowd stood on both sides of the platforms, visibly shocked and confused. Shortly after, the woman was observed beneath the train, and as the train reversed further, she attempted to sit up. Meanwhile, police officers quickly descended onto the tracks, preventing the crowd from approaching the victim.
According to officials, Pravin Padvi, senior inspector of Panvel GRP, stated that on Monday, Bote completed her duties at a residence in Belapur and was en route to another residence in Kharghar. Typically commuting by bus to her work locations, she chose to take the train on Monday due to heavy rain.
Reportedly around 10 am at Belapur station, she collapsed while waiting for a train to Kharghar. As the train arrived, she fell onto the tracks and was struck. Fellow commuters alerted the motorman who reversed the train. Severe injuries were found on both legs below the knees, she underwent surgery, saving her left leg but requiring amputation of her right.
