Shocking! Water gushes from roof of metro station amidst torrential rain in western India
In a concerning incident in western India’s Maharashtra, water leaked from the roof of a metro station during heavy rainfall.
The incident took place in Mumbai city, the video went viral on September 25.
Visuals showed water flowing like a waterfall from the roof inside the station. While the metro station was not crowded, those present appeared distressed by the deteriorating condition of the facility.
According to reports, several districts, including Mumbai, received 100-200 mm of rainfall on Wednesday. In areas like Kurla, Chembur, Mulund, Vikhroli, Breach Candy, and others, water levels reached waist height. Schools and colleges remained closed in Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Palghar, and Pimpri-Chinchwad due to the heavy rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert, predicting rainfall until October 1.
