In a shocking incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, two women were buried under gravel while protesting unauthorized road construction on their leased land in Hinauta village.

The incident took place in Hinauta village, Mangawan police station area of Rewa district on July 17.

Visuals captured the horrifying moment when construction workers dumped a truckload of gravel on the women, who were protesting against the road being built on their land. One was completely buried, while another lady was partially submerged. Onlookers were horrified but managed to rescue the victims amidst the chaos.

According to reports, the women were quickly moved to a community health center for treatment.  Additional SP Vivek Kumar Lal stated that an investigation is underway. The police are gathering evidence and information regarding the incident. “This is a serious matter involving a potential attempt to harm the women deliberately. We are registering a crime and will take appropriate action based on the findings,” he stated.
