In a disturbing incident in Pakistan, the Education Minister of Punjab, Rana Sikandar Hayat, allegedly assaulted a couple inside their home.

The incident took place in Pakistan and the video went viral on October 17,

Visuals showed the minister violently beating a man and a woman as they lay on a bed. The couple appeared helpless, attempting to protect themselves, while the minister continued his assault, slapping and beating them.

According to reports, Hayat entered the couple’s home with the intent to commit sexual violence against the woman, targeting her after they participated in protests against the rape of a Lahore PGC student. The minister allegedly beat the husband and forcibly pulled at the woman’s clothing in an attempt to violate her. The matter is currently under investigation, though no formal charges have been filed.
