In a startling incident in southern India’s Telangana, a delivery boy was apprehended for selling marijuana and drugs to customers.

The incident took place in Hyderabad city on July 23.

Visuals showed the drugs seized by police authorities, with officers detailing the incident and the materials confiscated during a press conference. The drugs, neatly packed in cartons, were prominently displayed for public view as the police provided a comprehensive overview of the case.

According to reports, Sheikh Bilal, a Zomato delivery boy, was arrested for selling marijuana and drugs to customers. Authorities seized 15 grams of drugs, 22 kg of marijuana, 71 nitrosun tablets, and half a kg of hash oil from him. The details of the case were disclosed during a press conference by Madhapur DCP Vineet.

Sheikh Bilal, originally from Rajahmundry, is alleged to have been sourcing marijuana from Araku in Andhra Pradesh and selling it in Hyderabad, with a focus on IT employees in the hi-tech city area. Bilal, who began using marijuana during his intermediate studies, moved to Hyderabad after the COVID-19 pandemic. He had previously been imprisoned under the NDPS Act.

Reportedly, after his release, Bilal resumed drug trafficking, establishing a customer base of nearly fifty people. These customers reached out to Bilal via Snapchat, Telegram, and WhatsApp to buy drugs. The police have identified these individuals and conducted tests on them, stating, “Cases will be registered against those who test positive.” They also noted that IT employees found using drugs would be referred to rehabilitation centers.
