Shocking! Cops under fire after planting drugs in western India
In a shocking incident in western India’s Maharashtra, police officers allegedly attempted to pass off planted drugs as a legitimate seizure, leading to public outrage.
The incident took place in the Kalina area of Mumbai city on August 30.
Visuals showed the officers arriving at a cattle farm and conducting a search on Daniel, an employee at the farm. During the search, one officer was seen discreetly placing an object into Daniel’s pocket, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the operation.
According to reports, the officers later claimed to have found 20 grams of mephedrone (MD) on Daniel and subsequently took him into custody. However, the entire episode was captured on a security camera, which led to Daniel’s release and prompted an investigation into the officers’ conduct. A senior Mumbai police officer confirmed the situation, stating, “We have taken cognizance of the video that has surfaced and have started an investigation.”
