Severe flooding in northern India: students drown and new parliament building submerged

Northern India’s Delhi’s poor drainage system has once again led to severe flooding, causing the state government to face legal scrutiny.

The incident took place in New Delhi on August 2.

Visuals showed water overflowing on the floor rising up to ankle level.

According to reports, recently, heavy rains flooded the basement of an IAS coaching center in Rajendra Nagar, tragically drowning three students. Additionally, Modi’s newly constructed Parliament Building is now submerged, with water pouring into the Rajya Sabha and security forces standing in the flooded premises. This incident highlights the critical need for infrastructure improvements in Delhi.
