Severe accident on highway in northern India: couple critically injured after car collides with wrong-side e-rickshaw
A tragic road accident occurred on the Delhi-Saharanpur Highway in Baghpat, where a couple riding a bike was critically injured after colliding with an e-rickshaw coming from the wrong side. The e-rickshaw driver fled the scene, and local residents promptly rushed the injured to the hospital.
The incident took place on the Delhi-Saharanpur Highway in the Baraut Kotwali area of Baghpat district on August 25.

After the initial impact, the e-rickshaw driver attempted to flee the scene but ended up crashing into a car present nearby. The bodies of the two severely injured people lay on the road, while a crowd quickly gathered around, creating a scene of chaos and concern.

Local residents quickly gathered and helped transport the injured couple to a nearby hospital, where their condition remains critical. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed along the roadside. Police reached the spot and managed to clear the traffic congestion while starting an investigation into the matter.
Eyewitness Vijay Kumar stated that the accident occurred due to the e-rickshaw coming from the wrong side of the highway. The police are currently investigating the case to take appropriate action against the responsible driver.
