A seven-year-old boy from northern India’s Haryana has set the record for the maximum number of push-ups performed in a period of 30 seconds. The record was confirmed by Asia Book of Records, as well as India Book of Records on December 5.
A video of the prodigious feat shows Martin placing his palms wide apart before beginning the record. He then proceeds to perform 57 push-ups in a duration of 30 seconds.
The Asia Book of Records has titled Martin as ‘Grand-Master’ for setting the record at such a young age.
Martin’s father, Sanjay Malik used to be a gold medalist in athletics during his younger days but was forced to quit the sport after sustaining a major injury. Martin used to accompany his father to the field every week on Sundays after school ever since he was less than three years of age.
However, it was during the COVID-19 imposed lockdown that Martin’s passion towards setting world records materialized. He began taking a high-protein diet to achieve his goals which included a variety of dry fruits and fruits along with an all-natural diet.
Martin aims to set many more world records in the coming years along with challenging not just other children but also adults with records in the field.
