Seven passengers hurt in bus-truck collision in central India, driver fatally injured

A bus and a truck claimed the life of the truck driver while leaving seven passengers injured in central India’s Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place at Indore-Ichapur National Highway on May 16.
Visuals showed a bus and a truck collided, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. The front windshield of the bus was completely shattered, and both vehicles were severely crushed. Local people had rushed to the scene to help evacuate the passengers from the bus, providing assistance and support.
In this unfortunate incident, the truck driver lost his life at the scene, while seven passengers, including the bus driver, sustained injuries. The injured have been taken to the district hospital for medical treatment.
The Nimbola Police Station reported that on Tuesday afternoon, a bus was traveling from Burhanpur to Indore. The bus collided with an oncoming truck at the blind curve near Asirgarh. The pictures that have emerged after the incident indicate that the bus driver may be responsible for the accident as the bus was traveling on the wrong side, leaving its designated lane. The identity of the deceased bus driver is yet to be determined.
Even after the Khargone accident, the transportation department had not taken any action against the risky buses. After the news was published, the department initiated action, but it was limited to issuing fines.
