Security forces dismantle Maoist memorial amid anti-insurgency efforts

In a decisive move, security forces destroyed a Maoist tribute site amid an insurgency drive using explosives.

The incident took place in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, central India, the video went viral on December 25.

Visuals show a memorial building standing upright, only to tilt and collapse moments later following an explosion at its base, sending up a massive cloud of dust. Shortly after the blast, security forces were seen advancing towards the collapsed structure.

According to reports, in a related incident on December 19, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) thwarted a Naxalite plot in Mudvendi, Bijapur, by detecting and safely defusing five roadside bombs, averting a major disaster.

The security forces were conducting a routine search operation in the area when they detected signs of danger and secured the perimeter. Upon closer inspection, they uncovered landmines buried underground, designed to detonate with devastating force as military vehicles passed.
