SDRF undertakes continuous rescue operation for stranded by floods in northern India

SDRF is tirelessly conducting a rescue operation in Uttarakhand, northern India, to evacuate people stranded by floods caused by heavy rainfall.
The rescue took place in Devpura Banbasa, Champawat district on July 8.
Visuals showed the SDRF actively engaged in rescue operations, bringing stranded individuals ashore to a safer location during the early hours of the day. The stranded indic=viduals were seen to have a sigh of relief after the rescue.
Speaking to Newslions, Lalita Negi, SDRF Media Coordinator at Uttarakhand Control Room, stated that SDRF team received reports of individuals stranded due to flooding. Upon receiving the alert, the SDRF team promptly arrived at the site. With water levels rising and heavy rainfall persisting, rescue operations commenced. As of now, the team has successfully evacuated 11 individuals, comprising 2 children, 4 women, and 5 men.
According to officials to enhance the rescue operation, the SDRF team was split into two groups. One group, led by Head Constable Pravesh Nagarkoti with Prakash Tiwari, Constable Navin Pokhariya, Manoj Gahatodiya, and Lalit Bora, responded to flooding in Ward No. 9 of Tanakpur. The second group, led by ASI Manish Bhakuni, continued ongoing rescue efforts in Devpura Banbasa, supported by Constable Pradeep Mehta, Constable Krishna Singh, Constable Narendra Singh, Suresh Mehra, Rahul, and Lalit Kumar.
