SDRF to the rescue! Officials save pregnant woman in labour pain trapped in flooded area in northern India
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) officials came to the rescue of a pregnant woman who was trapped along with her family in a water-logged area in northern India’s Uttarakhand.
This incident happened in Adarsh Colony area of Laksar in Haridwar district on July 14.
Visuals showed the rescue officials pulling off this amazing act as they rescued the pregnant woman along with her family. Officials held the lady and escorted her through the water and later, on to a lifeboat. They took utmost care in ensuring that the woman safely got on the boat after which they set off from the area.
According to a report, the SDRF commandant Manikant Mishra was informed about this by the police. He then directed a team that was engaged in relief and rescue work in the area to reach the spot. The rescue team led by ASI Pravindra Dhasmana arrived in the area and were able to rescue the woman and her family. The woman was later taken to the hospital by ambulance. The SDRF officials rescued seven people, who were identified as Shariq Salmani, Aasmeen Salmani, Dharmendra, Rameshon Devi, Prachi, Payal and Devika. Payal and Devika are children, aged 10 and nine years respectively while the others are adults.
