SDRF rescues two youths stranded in river during journey in northern India
Two young individuals found themselves trapped on a river sandbank after a sudden surge in water levels in northern India’s Uttrakhand.
The incident took place in Ganga river in Har Ki-Pauri area of Haridwar on April 16.
Visuals showed in a daring river rescue, SDRF teams brought two drowning individuals safely to shore. Both were equipped with life jackets and secured with ropes during the intense operation.
In a dramatic turn of events, two youths found themselves stranded in the midst of a river after a sudden surge in water levels. The incident occurred during their journey from Pauri-Haridwar to Srinagar with a gas truck.
While taking a break and bathing in the river, the youths were caught off guard by the rising water levels, leaving them stranded on a sandbank.
Swift action was taken by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team upon receiving the distress call. Launching a rapid rescue operation, the SDRF team successfully evacuated both youths to safety.
This incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of river currents and the importance of caution during recreational activities near water bodies.
