SDRF rescues four injured in accident on road in northern India
by ShravyaA vehicle met with an accident in northern India’s Uttarakhand prompting a swift response from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to rescue the injured.
The incident took place on Tapovan road in Chamoli district on June 7.
Visuals showed at the accident site, a rescue team was seen assisting injured individuals, taking them through the darkness with the aid of torchlight.
Following a notification from Joshiyamath Police Station, an SDRF team led by Chief Constable Mahesh Thani rushed to the scene to provide immediate rescue assistance. The incident involved a swift vehicle, bearing registration number UK11B-2020, which veered off the road into a deep ravine unexpectedly.
Upon reaching the accident site, the SDRF team swiftly descended approximately 100 meters into the ravine using ropes and reached the vehicle, where four individuals were found injured. The injured were identified as Priyanka, daughter of Govind Singh Pundir, aged 21, Arjun, son of Veerendra Singh, aged 16, Himanshu, son of Kishan Singh, aged 19, and Aman Aroda, aged 22.
The team provided first aid to the injured and evacuated them using stretchers to the nearest main road, from where they were transported to the hospital via ambulance. The SDRF’s prompt and efficient response ensured timely medical attention to the injured individuals, potentially averting further complications.
