SDRF rescues elderly residents from flood in central India

In a recent incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, SDRF rescued two elderly locals from floodwater that had partially submerged around a dozen homes in the lower-lying areas.
The incident took place in Naryoli Assembly’s Jerai village of Sagar district on July 23.
Visuals showed roads inundated by floodwaters from heavy rainfall, with infrastructure partially submerged. The SDRF team was captured rescuing two elderly citizens using a lifeboat, safely evacuating them from the affected area.
According to reports, SDRF team official Karan stated that SDRF was alerted to the situation and arrived promptly. Early in the morning, they successfully rescued two elderly villagers, Mardan Singh Kurmi (60) and Genda Rani Kurmi (55), using a boat to transport them to safety. Additionally, two livestock were also saved from the flood.
Reportedly, SDRF team official Karan, stated that they received information the previous night about the flooding in Jerai village. The team acted swiftly to ensure the safety of the affected residents.
