In northern India’s Uttarakhand, SDRF has successfully rescued 110 individuals who were stranded in a flood due to massive rain.

The incident took place in the Chakarpur area of Udham Singh Nagar district on July 8.

Visuals showed SDRF teams swiftly evacuating stranded individuals amidst rising floodwaters. They were seen using lifeboats to transport people to safety, highlighting their rescue efforts in challenging conditions across flooded regions.

Speaking to Newslions, Lalita Negi, SDRF Media Coordinator at Uttarakhand Control Room, stated that in the Chakarpur area of Janpad Udham Singh Nagar, SDRF conducted a rescue operation, evacuating over 100 people to safety from flooded areas. A backup team from Rishikesh also initiated operations in Arvind Nagar. In Banbasa, Champawat, 110 individuals have been rescued.

SDRF’s five teams have rescued over 200 people across both districts. The Indian Army and NDRF have joined SDRF in a coordinated rescue effort amidst heavy monsoon rains causing widespread distress in Uttarakhand, from Kumaon to Garhwal.
