SDRF officials rescue vehicles trapped on road due to snowfall in northern India
Officials of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) came to the aid of vehicles which were trapped on a road due to heavy snowfall in northern India’s Uttarakhand.
This incident happened in Dehradun district on February 5.
Visuals showed the SDRF officials pushing one of these vehicles on the road which was covered with snow. Commuting on such a path is risky as the road becomes slippery due to the snowfall but the officials ensured that the stranded vehicles were moved out of the area. Braving the tough weather, the officials ensured that the problem was solved.
According to a report, upon receiving this information, a team of the SDRF under the leadership of ASI Manish Chauhan rushed to the spot with the necessary equipment to conduct the rescue. The road was full of snow and hence the officials could not use a vehicle and travel by foot. The officials rescued around 25 people from a total of 25 vehicles which were stranded in the area due to heavy snowfall. The vehicles and the people were subsequently moved to a safe place.
