Roads left inundated after massive rainfall strikes eastern India

Several roads were left severely flooded after massive rainfall struck eastern India’s Assam.

This happened in the Haflong area of Dima Hasao district on May 2.

Visuals showed heavy flooding of roads, disrupting communications due to the rainfall. The shops and markets are also seen flooded.

According to the reports, since the night of May 1, there has been incessant rainfall, causing Haflong Lake to overflow. The flooding of the lake has caused flooding in various places of the city.

According to the reports, the Dima Hasao District Disaster Management Authority and the district commissioner have stated that all schools will remain closed on May 2 due to extremely bad weather conditions.

There are also reports of landslides from different parts of Dima Hasao.
