Restoration efforts underway following derailment of train in northeastern India

The incident took place at Diblong station in the Dima Hasao district on October 17.
Visuals showed a train lay derailed on the tracks, its carriages askew and lifeless against the steel rails. A dedicated team of workers, clad in safety gear, busily assessed the situation and began repairs. Onlookers gathered nearby, their expressions a mix of concern and curiosity, as the restoration efforts unfolded before them.
According to reports,Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northeast Frontier Railway, confirmed that all passengers are safe, with no casualties or major injuries reported. In response to the derailment, railway authorities have mobilized resources to evacuate passengers quickly. A separate train has been arranged to transport them to their intended destinations, and provisions for food and water have also been organized for those affected.
Sharma reassured the public, stating, “We are making every effort to normalize the situation as quickly as possible,” emphasizing the railway’s commitment to passenger safety and well-being. Restoration work continues as officials aim to resolve the situation in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill section promptly.
