Residents loot alcohol from truck after rear gate opens in northern India

In a surprising turn of events, residents in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh took advantage of a truck’s rear gate malfunction, leading to a spontaneous alcohol heist on a busy road.

 

The incident took place at Barhan Road, Etmadpur Police Station Area, Agra district on July 21.

Visuals showed on the road, behind a truck, bottles of alcohol were falling from the open gate. A crowd of men and women had gathered at the scene, scrambling to pick up the bottles. People were hurriedly grabbing the fallen bottles and stuffing them into bags, creating a chaotic but determined scene of people racing to collect as many bottles as they could.

 

On Sunday afternoon, a truck traveling at high speed on Barhan Road in the Etmadpur police station area experienced a malfunction when its rear gate unexpectedly opened. As a result, numerous boxes of alcohol fell onto the road. The sight of scattered bottles quickly attracted a large crowd of onlookers and opportunistic residents.

 

Amidst the chaos, people—including women—were seen filling their bags and containers with the fallen liquor. The scene unfolded as bystanders recorded the unusual event, which highlighted the desperation and excitement triggered by the unexpected spill. Local authorities have been notified, and investigations are underway to address the incident and its aftermath.
