Rescuers save car trapped in flood amidst heavy rains in southern India
In a remarkable display of courage and compassion, the Udupi Fire Station Rescue Team conducted a heroic car rescue operation amidst severe flooding in Karnataka, southern India.
The incident took place near Kannarpady temple, Kinnimulki of Udupi district on July 8.
Visuals showed rescuers wading into the floodwaters, securing the car with a sturdy rope. With water rushing around them, they pulled with unwavering dedication, while locals lent a helping hand. This powerful image of community effort highlighted resilience and unity against nature’s fury.
Speaking to Newslions, Leading Fireman of Udupi fire station, Ashwin Sanil said, along with District Fire Officer Vinayaka V. Kalgudkar, Station Officer Ravindra and Leading Fireman Sathish with his team started the rescue operation at 10 AM and which went on till 8 PM.
According to reports, the road had become inundated from heavy rains. Despite the conditions, the occupants of the car attempted to proceed and were swept away. Alerted by locals, the fire service department swiftly responded, collaborating with community members to successfully rescue those inside the vehicle.
