Rescue official’s heroic act saves drowning pilgrim in northern India
State Disaster Response Force personnel emerged as a guardian angel when he rescued a drowning pilgrim in northern India’s Uttarakhand.
The incident took place near Kangra Bridge in Haridwar district on July 5.
Visuals showed in the midst of this fast-flowing river, a devotee attempted to take a holy dip. However, as he entered the turbulent waters, he began to struggle and started to drown. The scene intensified as SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) personnel rushed to the devotee’s aid. With skilled coordination and a sense of urgency, they successfully rescued him from the treacherous waters, ensuring his safe return to land.
According to reports, the pilgrim lost control while bathing in the Ganges, with swift action and a raft, Ali, the SDRF team member ensured the safety of the struggling youth, identified as Mr. Manjeet, aged 22 and hailing from Maneshwar, Haryana.
