Remarkable! Ticket checker revives elderly man amidst cardiac arrest on train in northern India

In a remarkable incident in northern India, a ticket checker successfully revived an elderly man who suffered a heart attack on a train.

The incident took place in first class Ac coach of Pawan Express traveling from Darbhanga in Bihar to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on September 25.

Visuals showed the ticket examiner administering CPR under the guidance of a family doctor, frequently checking his technique to ensure effectiveness while the man lay unconscious on the berth.

According to reports, BP Karn was traveling with his brother in a first-class coach when he suddenly experienced severe chest pain and collapsed. The elderly passenger’s brother initiated an emergency call via the Railways’ RailMadad portal as soon as the incident occurred. The ticket examiner, Savind Kumar, promptly responded to the alert, arriving at the scene to find the passenger unresponsive. Following the doctor’s instructions, Kumar administered CPR for about 15 minutes until the elderly man regained consciousness.

Upon reaching Chhapra station shortly after the incident, a medical team was waiting as a result of the Railways alert regarding the medical emergency. The passenger was subsequently taken off the train and admitted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
