Remarkable achievement! Successful plastic surgery performed on patient with hand tumor in central India
In an impressive medical feat in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, a patient underwent successful plastic surgery for a hand tumor in a district hospital.
The incident took place at Kushabhau Thakrey District Hospital in Rewa district on March 1.
Visuals showed the medical team reviewing the patient’s hand, asking him to bend his fingers, and examining the visible swelling on his palm and wrist caused by the tumor. In another set of visuals, doctors were seen carefully extracting the tumor in the operating room, ensuring the patient’s safety throughout the procedure.
Speaking to Newslions, Laparoscopic Surgeon Dr. Alok Dubey stated that the patient, a young man from Panna district, had a large tumor that had severely affected the main arteries, nerves, and tendons of his hand. After seeking treatment unsuccessfully in Nagpur, the patient arrived at the Rewa District Hospital, where Plastic Surgeon Dr. Siddharth Singh decided to perform surgery. The complex surgery lasted around four hours and was successfully completed after the patient’s consent.
The medical team, including Dr. Siddharth Singh, Dr. Alok Dubey, Dr. Radha Singh, Dr. Nishtha Dubey, Dr. Priyanka, and nurse Renuka, played a pivotal role in this challenging procedure. The patient received free treatment after he was issued an Ayushman card, and his hand is reportedly now functioning like a normal person’s.
