In a remarkable incident in central India’s Chhattisgarh, a rare two-headed snake was rescued by the forest department from a village, drawing widespread attention.

The incident took place in Barbaspur village of Koriya district on September 9.

Visuals showed the two-headed snake lying still in a tray while forest department personnel monitored the situation. One of the rescuers was seen explaining the uniqueness of the snake and narrating the details of the rescue operation to onlookers.

According to reports, villagers from Barbaspur spotted the baby snake with two heads roaming around on the morning of September 9. The snake, placed in a container by the villagers, was handed over to the Waraseoni Forest Division team upon their arrival. The forest department team managed a large crowd gathered at a local Ganesh Utsav pandal, where the snake was kept.

After conducting a medical examination, the snake was safely released back into its natural habitat. The species could not be identified, as the snake was only 9 inches long, but its two heads made it a center of attraction. The forest department acted quickly to ensure the snake’s safety, with senior officials instructing its release into the forest.
