Railway guard accused of abusing and pushing disabled passenger off train in northern India
A shocking video has surfaced showing a railway guard allegedly abusing and pushing a disabled passenger off the Vaishali Superfast Express train in northern India’s Bihar. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and led to the formation of a three-member investigation committee.
The incident took place at the Samastipur railway station in Samastipur district and the video went viral on August 14.
Visuals showed in a tense scene at a railway station, a railway officer was seen arguing with a disabled man inside a train that had stopped at the platform. The argument escalated, and after a prolonged exchange, the officer slapped the disabled man and struck him on the head. The confrontation was marked by aggressive and rude behavior from the officer. As the officer began to leave the train, a crowd of bystanders who had witnessed the incident looked on in shock and disapproval. The atmosphere was charged with tension, with the crowd’s reactions reflecting their concern and condemnation of the officer’s actions.
According to reports a railway guard on the Vaishali Superfast Express is seen physically assaulting and forcibly removing a disabled passenger from the train. The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows the guard using derogatory language and pushing the passenger off the train with his foot. The disabled individual, a resident of Thatiya village in Rosda, was traveling from Samastipur station to Muzaffarpur when the altercation occurred.
Following the video’s circulation, Vinay Srivastava, the DRM of Samastipur, has formed a three-member committee to investigate the matter. Srivastava described the incident as deeply troubling and emphasized that such behavior towards any passenger is unacceptable. The accused guard is from the Sonpur railway division, and based on the investigation’s findings, appropriate action will be recommended against him.
The video has triggered a strong public response, with many condemning the guard’s actions and calling for accountability. The railway authorities have assured that a thorough inquiry will be conducted, and the findings will determine the necessary course of action.
