Property dispute between Political leaders’ families escalates to gunfire in northern India
In northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a property dispute between the sons of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) Suresh Yadav’s brother, Dharmendra Yadav, from his two marriages, escalated into violent gunfire.
The incident took place in the Chinhat area near a roadside eatery, within the jurisdiction of Chinhat police station in Barabanki district on September 4.
Visuals showed at night, chaos erupted as two groups were fiercely arguing and fighting under the dim glow of streetlights. Voices were raised, and tensions ran high between them. In the midst of the commotion, gunshots suddenly rang out, startling those nearby. A few people tried desperately to intervene, grabbing at the individuals involved, and urging them to stop fighting, but the situation continued to spiral out of control despite their efforts.
A heated property dispute between the sons of Dharmendra Yadav, brother of Barabanki Sadar’s SP MLA Suresh Yadav, took a violent turn as gunfire erupted in the Chinhat area. The conflict, stemming from the division of family land, spiralled out of control as Dharmendra’s sons from his two marriages clashed. What started as a verbal confrontation soon escalated into an intense firefight, causing panic among nearby residents.
The altercation occurred near a local eatery, where the two sets of siblings confronted each other over the property division. As tempers flared, both sides opened fire, leading to chaos in the vicinity. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The entire incident was caught on CCTV, which the police later seized for investigation.
Dharmendra Yadav has been involved in family disputes over property for some time, but this is the first time the disagreement has resulted in such violence. The police are actively investigating the incident and have identified the accused. Arrests are expected soon, as tension between the factions of the family continues to rise.
