Principal shot on road in northern India by bike-borne assailants
In a chilling incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a school principal was ambushed and shot in the head at close range by two assailants on a bike while walking on a road.
The incident took place in Moradabad district on November 5.
Visuals showed the principal falling face down as he was shot from behind by two attackers, who fled the scene immediately.
According to reports, the teacher, identified as the principal of Sri Sai Public School in Lakri Fazalpur, was reportedly heading from home to school when the attack occurred. Passersby rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The brutal shooting happened in the Lakdi area near Majhola police station.
The attack took place just 50 meters from the school, which belongs to a local BJP official, Shammi Bhatnagar. SP City Ranvijay Singh stated that the incident unfolded around 9:00 am and that the motive is still unclear.
The principal had been under scrutiny four months earlier when a student from the same school took their own life. An FIR was filed against the principal at the time, with the family alleging that he had mistreated the student. The investigation into his shooting is ongoing.
