Politician’s son crashes into truck under influence in western India
In a recent incident in western India’s Maharashtra, a politician’s son was booked for crashing into a truck while under the influence.
The incident took place at Z-Corner on Manjari Mundhwa Road in Pune on July 16.
Visuals showed a poultry-laden tempo-truck traveling on an empty road when an SUV approached from the opposite direction and collided with it. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, and chickens were seen falling off the side of the tempo-truck.
According to reports, the speeding SUV crashed into the tempo-truck, injuring two people. The car was allegedly driven by Saurabh Gaikwad, the son of former corporator and Sharad Pawar party leader Bandu Gaikwad. A case has been registered against Saurabh Gaikwad.
Police stated that after the crash, all three individuals were rushed to a hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment.
On July 7, Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) leader Rajesh Shah, rammed his BMW into a scooter in Worli, killing a 45-year-old woman who was riding pillion. Mihir Shah had consumed alcohol at two bars before the incident, police said. He was arrested last week after being on the run for nearly three days.
