Political party worker mercilessly beaten in western India’s road rage incident
A 34-year-old man, identified as Akash Main and allegedly affiliated with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), was beaten to death in a violent road rage incident in western India’s Maharashtra. The tragic incident, which unfolded in front of his family, escalated after an altercation with an auto rickshaw driver, leading to the arrest of nine individuals.
The incident took place at Malad East, near Pushpa Park, in the Goregaon area of Mumbai on October 12.
Visuals showed a mob kicking and beating Akash while his mother desperately laid over his body to shield him from the attackers. His father, also present at the scene, sustained severe injuries to his left eye. Main’s wife, who was riding pillion on his bike, witnessed the horrific attack unfold.
According to reports, the police responded swiftly, registering a case of murder and arresting nine individuals involved in the fatal assault. The accused were produced in court and have been remanded to police custody until October 22.
The incident has sparked outrage in the local community, with many calling for stricter measures against road rage and mob violence. Further investigations are underway as the police continue to gather evidence and testimonies related to the case.
