In a heated altercation aboard a moving bus, BJP’s Udayveer Singh and his supporters were brutally beaten by a group of youths over a seat dispute.

The incident took place near the Dudhwa intersection at Lakhimpur Kheri on May 19.

Visuals showed inside a bus, several people were punching BJP members. One person had blood streaming from his nose, while another was being beaten by a group who had torn his shirt. Outside the bus, a crowd had gathered to watch the spectacle.

According to authorities, the conflict erupted on Sunday while Singh and his supporters were returning from Gauriphanta. A disagreement over seating arrangements escalated, resulting in the youths attacking the BJP leader and his companions. The commotion drew a crowd at the Dudhwa intersection, eventually requiring police intervention.

Following the incident, a journalist who reported on the matter received a threatening phone call from a supporter of the BJP leader, warning them of repercussions for covering the story. The threatening phone call was captured on video and has since gone viral, further complicating the situation.

The police have identified and filed charges against Shivam Gupta, Raghav Gupta, Ujjwal, Nirmal, and Kunal for their involvement in the assault. Investigations are ongoing as the police continue to gather evidence and witness statements.
