In a vigilant operation in southern India’s Telangana, authorities intercepted the illegal transport of over 150 cows, which were being moved in multiple vehicles under harsh conditions.
The incident took place in MadgulaPally village of Miryalaguda city, Nalgonda district, on November 13.
Visuals showed a large truck overloaded with cows, tightly packed and stranded, unable to move to prevent them from falling or escaping. Following the seizure, officials recounted the operation, describing how they coordinated to rescue the animals and take statements regarding the incident.
According to reports, the Miryalaguda police, with support from a task force, acted on a tip-off to stop five vehicles transporting cows from Vijayawada Hanuman Junction to Hyderabad, intending to prevent illegal slaughter. Five DCM vehicles were seized in the operation, and all animals are being transferred to a Hyderabad goshala. Local BJP leaders, meanwhile, have called for strict punishment for those involved in this illegal transport.
