Police seize huge quantity of liquor from politician’s mango garden in southern India

The police in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh seized more than 50,000 bottles of liquor from a mango garden belonging to a politician of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

This incident took place at Metlapalli in Gannavaram mandal, Krishna district on April 28.

Visuals showed the cops seizing the liquor which was kept in boxes. The boxes were taken out from a room by cops and kept in another. The room where the liquor was stored was stacked with boxes and they were brought out by the cops. According to a report, the police acted on a tip-off and conducted a raid at the Seetarama Gardens in Metlapalli. The cops were able to seize 1210 boxes which contained 58,080 bottles of liquor. The seized liquor was valued at Rs 75.50 lakh (USD 90,498.83).

The liquor was imported from Goa and was set to be distributed among the voters in the Lok Sabha elections. The person who stored the liquor was identified as Gudapati Durgaprasad and he was later arrested along with another person. The mango garden was found to be belonging to the family of Gudapati Tulsimohan, a former sarpanch of Gannavaram mandal. The cops are investigating further into this incident. Tulsi Mohan is the main follower of TDP’s MLA candidate Yarlagadda Venkatarao.
