Police seize $837,853 cash after minivan collided with lorry in southern India

Following a collision between a minivan and a lorry near a village in Andhra Pradesh, authorities uncovered a significant sum of Rs 7 crore (USD 837,853.10) concealed within seven boxes amidst urea bags.

This incident happened near Ananthapalli village, East Godavari on May 11.

Visuals showed the aftermath of the collision, with a vehicle overturned sideways on the side of the road. In another scene, bundles of cash were prominently displayed on a table, indicating the significant discovery made by authorities.

The cash, en route from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam, is suspected to be linked to illegal activities. Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for transporting the cash. This seizure underscores the region’s efforts to combat financial crimes, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance in maintaining law and order.
