Police rescues mother, son from drowning in river in northern India
In a recent incident in northern India’s Uttarakhand, a child and his mother were rescued by police officials when they were drowning in the river.
 
The incident took place in Ganga at Muni Ki Reti area of Tehri Garhwal district on July 15.
Visuals vividly captured the heroic scene as police swam through the river to safely bring the mother and child ashore, ensuring their rescue.

According to officials, the 5-year-old child slipped while bathing in the strong waves of the Ganga and was swept away. His mother jumped in to save him, but both began drowning. Water police personnel on site swiftly rescued them from the river, ensuring their safety.

The incident caused alarm on the pier as both mother and son were submerged in the Ganges. The water police team stationed at the ghat successfully rescued them. The rescued mother and son have been identified as Guddi Devi (26), wife of Nirpal, and Vansh (5), son of Nirpal, residents of Bhole Ki Jhal, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The rescue team members included Subhash Dhyani, Videsh Chauhan, Rajendra Singh, Trepan Singh, and Vinay Kumar.
