Police, firefighters come to the aid of puppy stranded due to heavy rainfall in northern India
The police and firefighters came to the aid of a stranded puppy, who was trapped underneath a bridge amid rising water levels due to heavy rainfall in northern India’s Punjab and Haryana.
This incident happened under the Khuda Lahore bridge in Chandigarh on July 10.
Visuals showed one of the officials pull off a risky rescue operation as he held onto a ladder with one hand with the puppy, safely tucked under his arms. The raging waters beneath made this operation a bit riskier as had he slipped and fell, there would have been a high chance of him and the puppy being swept away. But the official held on carefully and didn’t lose his balance on the ladder and eventually, was able to pull off this successful rescue operation.
Chandigarh among other places in northern India has been witnessing the fury of rainfall in the past few days as water has inundated roads and led to rivers overflowing, making life difficult for the normal people.
