Police destroyed confiscated silencers by crushing them with road roller in southern India

In a decisive move against noise pollution, police seized 70 bikes with modified silencers in a town in southern India’s Telangana.

The incident took place in Sangareddy city on July 2.

Visuals showed how the silencers got crushed by the road roller in front of police officials.

According to reports, the superintendent of Police Chennuri Rupesh stated that criminal cases would be filed against anyone found using modified bike silencers. He also mentioned that strict action would be taken against mechanics who install these illegal silencers.

The SP highlighted that the police are focusing on traffic enforcement post-elections. Regular drunk-driving tests are conducted on school and college buses to ensure safety. Citizens have been encouraged to report any instances of modified silencer use.

The operation saw the participation of ASP Sanjeeva Rao, DSP A Sathaiah, and other officials. The police’s efforts are part of a broader initiative to maintain road safety and reduce noise pollution in Sangareddy.
