Police assaults toll plaza worker in northern India, investigation underway
An investigation starts after a Sub-inspector assaulted a toll plaza worker in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place in Luharli toll plaza located in Dadri police station, Greater Noida on June 13.
Visuals showed a conflict arising between toll workers and a sub-inspector over an issue. Amidst the altercation, the sub-inspector from the UP Police initiated a physical altercation with the toll workers on site. He forcibly broke through the toll plaza barrier, resulting in several vehicles departing without paying toll fees.
In this instance, authorities state that the incident is under investigation. They are looking into the posting of the accused sub-inspector, identified as Praveen Kumar. Vineet Kumar, the manager at Luharli toll, recounted that on Thursday morning, a Centro car pulled up at toll number five from the Dadri side. An individual alighted from the vehicle and proceeded to remove the toll barrier, prompting resistance from the toll worker.
