Perpetrator of harassment targets victim’s home in northern India

In a deeply disturbing incident, a minor girl fell victim to harassment by her neighbors in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place in Chitrakoot district on June 2.
Visuals showed the neighbors who harassed the minor girl, along with their friends, gathered outside her house with sticks in their hands to instill fear. They were assaulting the girl’s house, beating the doors with sticks during the nighttime.
According to reports, when the minor girl left her home to go to the store to buy some groceries, the neighbors harassed her. And when the girl informed her parents about the incident at home, those boys, in their anger, launched this attack.
“A complaint has been registered at the Maun Police Station regarding the incident, under relevant sections of the law. Preliminary legal action is underway.” Chitrakoot police said.
