Passenger slips while trying to board moving train in eastern India, cop comes to rescue

A brave Railway Protection Force (RPF) cop saved a man’s life after he slipped and fell while trying to board a moving train in eastern India’s West Bengal.

This incident took place at platform number five of Bardhaman junction on September 8.

CCTV footage captured the cop’s heroic act as he pulled out the man who was being dragged by the train. Krishna Pada Biswas, a 52-year-old was trying to board the 12338 Shanti Niketan Express when he lost his balance and fell down. The cop, ASI Sukanta Besra, noticed this passenger and ran quickly to save his life. Biswas was being dragged by the train and was perilously close to the gap between the vehicle and the platform.

The cop tried to pull him out first but was unsuccessful. He once again ran towards the man and some others too went along with him as they were all eventually successful in saving his life. Biswas stated that he suffered minor leg injuries and didn’t want any medical assistance. He was travelling to Howrah when this happened.
