Panic unfolds in northern India as overloaded boat capsizes in river

In a dramatic incident in northern India’s Bihar, a boat carrying passengers capsized while crossing the Kosi River, but all aboard were rescued in time.

The incident took place in the Supaul district on October 4,

Visuals showed passengers stranded and distressed in the river after the boat overturned. Onlookers appeared concerned yet took immediate action, approaching those in need and attempting to assist them.

According to reports, the boat was overloaded, carrying about 20 people despite being designed for fewer. The accident happened near Pirganj Thadi Datta in the Kishanpur police station area. A disaster response team arrived promptly and initiated a rescue operation, managing to save everyone in the water. Meanwhile, the search for the capsized boat continues.

Witnesses stated that the boat lost control and overturned due to the strong current. Disaster friend Mohammad Samiullah reported seeing the incident firsthand as his team was en route to a flood relief camp. He, along with fellow disaster friend Mohammad Adam and local residents, swiftly organized the rescue effort. The incident was subsequently reported to local officials, who confirmed that all individuals were safely recovered.
