Panic in northern India as Leopard spotted near residential area
A sense of panic has gripped residents in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh after a leopard-like animal was reportedly spotted. Local authorities are urging caution as wildlife teams investigate the sighting.
The incident took place at Revati Enclave, located in the Chanda police station area near the Agra-Agra bypass, close to the village of Nagla Bhus in Hathras on October 13.
Visuals showed at night, outside a house, a leopard-like animal was seen prowling in the dim light. The animal moved gracefully, pausing occasionally to scan its surroundings with alert, reflective eyes.
According to reports, upon receiving the report, Hathras officials promptly notified the District Forest Officer (DFO). The DFO assessed the viral video and suggested that the creature might be a fishing cat, rather than a leopard. Nevertheless, he advised residents to remain vigilant until the animal is located.
A team from the forest department is currently conducting searches in the area to identify and secure the animal. As the situation unfolds, local residents are advised to take precautions to ensure their safety.
