PAF Mirage Aircraft crashes in Pakistan; pilot ejects safely

A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage aircraft crashed during a routine operational training mission.

The incident took place near Chak 412 JB Cheemian Wali, Shorkot area, Jhang on May 22.

Visuals showed after the plane crash, a crowd of onlookers quickly gathered at the site. Smoke from the crash spread far and wide, visible from a considerable distance. The scene was chaotic as people tried to get a closer look, while the thick plumes of smoke billowed into the sky, creating an ominous backdrop.

According to police, the pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft and sustained no injuries. No property damage was reported on the ground. However, a local resident, Ikhlaq Ahmad, was injured and has been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Initial reports indicate that the crash was due to a technical fault. Rescue 1122 teams promptly extinguished the fire that erupted following the crash. Shorkot DSP and the local police station’s officer arrived quickly to secure the area.
