Owl rescues from 33kV high-tension wire 100 feet above ground in central India
An owl trapped in a 33kV high tension wire, about 100 feet above the ground in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, was successfully rescued by a collaborative effort involving the Atal Kamdhenu Gau Seva Sansthanthe, Forest Department, and Electricity Department volunteers.
The incident took place near the New Bus Stand area in Shahdol district on September 2.
Visuals showed an owl trapped high up on a high-tension wire, entangled in a kite string. A rescue team carefully reached the spot, navigating the dangerous height. They managed to free the owl and gently removed the injuries caused by the string, ensuring its safe recovery and release.
An incident near the New Bus Stand, where fish are sold, caught attention when an owl was spotted entangled in a 33kV high-tension wire, approximately 100 feet above the ground. The owl’s wings were caught in kite string (manja), which led to the entanglement on the live wire. The situation was critical, with the owl hanging dangerously close to the live wire.
Upon receiving the distress call, a rescue team was quickly mobilized. The operation was led by Gaurav Ralhi Mishra founder of Atal Kamdhenu Gau Seva Sansthan, with critical support from the Chief Engineer of the Electricity Department, Gausevak Prakash Sen, Mr. Shishir Srivastava, along with his staff. Additionally, Forest Deputy Ranger Mr. Mathura Singh played a significant role in the rescue efforts. Their collaboration and precise planning ensured a safe and effective rescue.
The operation involved precise planning to avoid any mishap with the high-voltage wire. After a challenging effort, the team successfully rescued the owl and handed it to the Forest Department for further care. The joint efforts of the electricity and forest departments, along with the volunteers, were commendable in ensuring the safe rescue of the bird.
