Officials rescue tiger cub in southern India after leopard carries one away
Officials rescued one of the two cubs that a tigress gave birth to in southern India’s Telangana. The other one, unfortunately, was taken away by a leopard.
This incident happened in Konaraopet village of Rajanna Sircilla district of the state on September 21.
Visuals showed the tiger cub, which was rescued, sleeping peacefully on a leaf underneath some rocks by the side of a tree. Officials gathered at the spot and kept a close eye on the little animal as it rested. It was subsequently rescued. A leopard wandered in the area and picked up a child before running away from the spot.
It was learnt as per a report that the tigress in question, gave birth to twin cubs near a dumping yard in front of a substation and it was seen by a farmer who was going to work. He then informed the villagers about this and they all gathered at the spot where the other cub rested. Soon, the officials were called and they rushed to the spot to capture and rescue the animal. The leopard cub will reportedly be shifted to Karimnagar.
