Officials rescue residents after fire breaks out at house in northern India

Officials of the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) came to the rescue of residents after a fire broke out at a house in northern India’s Delhi.

This incident happened in a three-storey residential building in Mohan Garden area on February 23.

 

Visuals showed the rescue operation taking place. The fire service officials used a ladder to rescue a child from inside the house. The officials provided words of encouragement to a girl who slowly climbed down the ladder as part of the rescue operation. A fire official was also seen climbing down the ladder with a child on his back. Other members of the household also were rescued in a similar manner.

According to a report, the Delhi Fire Service officials received information about this fire at around 10:15 am IST (Indian Standard Time) and rushed to the spot with six fire tenders. The fire, it was learnt, had started on the third floor of the building and trapped people on the second and third floors were rescued by the fire officials. Five people were rescued in total which included three children with the help of a ladder and hydraulic jack. The fire was brought down by 1 pm and the cause of it is said to be a short circuit, although the exact reason has not been ascertained yet.
