Nilgai rescued from 20 foot well in northern India
A nilgai was rescued from a 20-foot deep well by the Fire Service Unit in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place at the village of Jamurwa Khurd, under the jurisdiction of the Saloon area in Raibareli district on July 20.
Visuals showed a nilgai was found trapped in a deep well, and a rescue team was present to save it. They had tied a rope around the animal’s neck and were pulling it up carefully. After much effort, the nilgai was safely lifted out of the well. Once out, it tried to run away but still had the rope around its body. After more hard work from the rescue team, they managed to remove the rope from the nilgai’s body, and it eventually ran off freely.
Gangadhar Mishra, Fire officer of Raebareli Fire and Emergency service told News lions that in the village of Jamurwa Khurd, a nilgai fell into a well approximately 20 feet deep. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Saloon police station. The Saloon Fire Service Unit promptly responded to the situation and successfully rescued the nilgai alive from the well.
