Mosque collapses on Eid following road collapse in northern India
A sudden road collapse led to the catastrophic destruction of the renowned Sangmarmar Mosque in northern India’s Delhi.
The incident took place at Chudiwala area of Old Delhi on June 17.
Visuals showed in a narrow street, surrounded by an old mosque, a few people were anxiously waiting for something when suddenly the mosque started to crumble from the bottom. In an instant, the entire building collapsed with a loud crash, scattering stones, cement, and debris everywhere. The people present, desperate to avoid the debris, ran for their lives to safety.
The famous Sangmarmar Mosque, known for its exquisite marble architecture dating back centuries, met its unfortunate demise as a section of the road adjacent to it gave way unexpectedly during the festivities of Bakrid.
