Monkey jumps on parked car, shatters sunroof in northern India
A monkey leaped onto a parked car from a rooftop in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, breaking the vehicle’s sunroof and escaping before it could be caught.
The incident took place in Visheshwarganj area of Varanasi on November 19.
Visuals showed a monkey suddenly jumping on the sunroof of a parked car on the road below with great force, shattering the car’s sunroof completely. After the impact, the monkey swiftly jumped out of the broken sunroof, climbed onto the car’s exterior, and then quickly escaped the scene.
According to reports, Varanasi continues to grapple with a growing monkey menace, despite efforts by the Forest Department’s special team to capture and control the primates. A recent incident in the Vishweshwar Ganj area highlights the ongoing problem.
A video from the area shows a monkey suddenly jumping onto a parked car from the rooftop of a hotel owned by Mukesh Jaiswal. The impact was so severe that it shattered the car’s sunroof. Following the incident, the monkey fled the scene, leaving the vehicle damaged and onlookers startled.
Local residents have expressed concerns over the increasing disturbances caused by monkeys in various parts of the city, despite active campaigns by authorities to address the issue.
